The Poetry of Yoga
“The poet”, as Hafiz wrote, "can pour Light into a spoon, then raise it to nourish your beautiful parched, holy mouth."
For me, yoga is a practice in attuning inward, to not only nourish the body but also the spirit and to do the "slow, unglamorous work of healing”. Poetry layered into an asana practice, a few simple words, allows me to rest my mind and cradle my heart. The words gently hold me as I enter into the parts of me that I need to attend to with tenderness and presence.
These photograph galleries feature the words of poets, the postures of yoga, and the landscapes which stand as witnesses to this journey that we each embark on.
