Skillful action …..

Intentions need to have skillful action applied to them.

For example, if you want to have more space in your hamstrings, you cannot just think about it.

Skillful action will need to happen if any change is to occur. This seems obvious, because it is.

The same rules of logic apply to the intentions of our hearts.

I would bet every singe class I teach I remind my students (and myself) that "Yoga is a gradual path".

There is "no rush, no hurry, hurry", on our gradual path.

I encourage us to hold ourselves gently, tenderly, and compassionately.

But let's be clear that yoga is a path of skillful action.

May we move with integrity (sila) as we skillfully meander on this gradual path.
